3 Methods most used to Calculate Body Frame Size.

1.  Elbow Method: 
(seems hard to do???)
Some Companies use the following method to calculate body frame  size:
a. Raise your arm in front of your body bending your elbow at a ninety degree angle to your body so that your forearm is parallel to your body.  Keep your fingers straight and turn the inside of your wrist towards your body.
b. Place your thumb and index finger on the two prominent bones on either side of your elbow, then measure the distance between the bones with a tape measure or calipers.  The calipers will provide a more accurate result.
Use the chart below for elbow measurements for a medium frame person at different heights

If your elbow measurement for a particular height is:
Less than the number of inches listed    You are Small Body Frame
More than the number of inches listed   You are Large  Body Frame
Body Frame Size is only one of the factors that are considered when determining the ideal body weight of a person

Knowing your
body frame size helps your to decide whether you need to lose weight or vice versa.

t is not sufficient to measure only the weight to give the real picture of your health.  You need to get a more comprehensive idea about your health, by also determining body frame size.

Body Frame Size of an individual is calculated by comparing the height with elbow or wrist measurements.

Nowadays researchers are stressing upon "Body Frame Size" in order to classify people with different body shapes into
three categories: Small, Medium and Large.  Bone structures and body shapes play a vital role in defining the optimal weight of a person.
2.  Wrist Circumference
Body frame size is determined by a person's wrist circumference in relation to his height.  Measure the circumference of your wrist at the smallest part of the wrist with a measuring tape, then compare the results to the chart below
3. Thumb and Index Finger Method:
One easy way to determine your body frame size is to wrap your thumb and major fingers around the smallest part of your wrist.
                 If the fingers overlap you are a Small Body Frame.
                 If your fingers just about touch your are a
Medium Body Frame.
                 If your fingers don't touch you are a
Large Body Frame.
Note:  If you want a more accurate measure to calculate your body frame size use either your wrist circumference or elbow breadth outlined above.
Elbow Method would be the most accurate method, but you really need a pair of calipers to do get this right.

The Wrist Measurement Method would be the next best way to tell.

This isn't very accurate at all; some people have longer fingers than others which will obviously affect whether your fingers will touch or not.
